Sexual abuse of female students in Sri Chaitanya Techno School, Coimbatore; administrative officer and PT teacher arrested

Parents of the girls complained by contacting govt’s child protection emergency number 1098. Upon orders of District Collector Kranthi Kumar, District Child Protection Officers and police investigated the case. AO and PT Teacher have been booked under POCSO and arrested.


Coimbatore: Two staff have been arrested in Sri Chaitanya Techno School, Coimbatore on sexual harassment complaint raised by the parents of affected girl children.

A private school called Sri Chaitanya Techno is functioning in Chinnavedampatti next to Saravanampatti in Coimbatore. In this case, the students have reported to their parents that both the administrative officer and the physical education teacher sexually harassed the students studying in the school.

The shocked parents went straight to the school and complained to the school management. But since the school administration did not take any action, the parents of the affected girls contacted the child protection emergency number of Indian government and filed a complaint, after which the district collector was also informed.

On the order of the District Collector, Child Protection Officers Mathiyalagan Kalpana Sridhar Saravanampatti Police Inspector Ms. visited Sri Chaitanya Techno School and conducted an investigation.

During the investigation, it was revealed that Vijayakumar from Ganapathy, who works as an administrative officer of the school, and Muralitharan from Karamadai Velliyangat, who works as a physical education teacher, sexually harassed the girls.

It was also revealed that the students were threatened that if they tell anyone outside about this, they will tell their parents wrongly about them. This incident has caused great shock among the parents of the school.
