Drinking water overhead tank lying unattended in Udumalai - People demand restoration before collapse

The residents of Udumalpet have demanded that the water overhead tank in Udumalpet, which is in a dilapidated condition, be repaired immediately.



Tirupur: The lower part of the drinking water overhead tank and the pillars have developed cracks and the concrete is falling down.



People have expressed anguish over whether the compound wall built around the drinking water tank has also been damaged.

There is a water tank with a capacity of 6 lakh litres at Ramasamy Nagar in Udumalpet Municipality of Tirupur district. There have been allegations that the tank was not maintained properly.



Due to this, the bottom part of the tank, including the pillars, cracked and the concrete falls off and falls down. The compound wall built around the drinking water tank has also been damaged.



Moreover, the tank is full and the water does not flow out. Instead it stagnates on the lower side of the tank. As a result, the water tank gradually weakens and eventually collapses completely. Therefore, the public has demanded that the drinking water tank should be maintained.
