Pattas issued to Scheduled Castes have been cancelled by officials - Public petition

The public has submitted a petition to the Collector seeking to hand over the land to the Scheduled Caste people of Veerakeralam near Madukkarai, claiming that President Rangasamy has claimed that the pattas given to the Scheduled Castes in 2016 have been cancelled.



Coimbatore: The residents of Veerakeralam near Madukkarai have submitted a memorandum to the collector alleging that the authorities claim that the pattas issued to the Adi Dravidar people have been cancelled.

In 2016, pattas were issued to the Adi Dravidars of Veerakeralam in Orattukuppam village in Madukkarai taluk of Coimbatore district. President Rangasamy is said to have said that the patta has now been cancelled.

In this situation, the people of the area submitted a petition to the Coimbatore district collector demanding that the land allotted to them be given to them stating that their patta had not been cancelled.

The people of the area said, they requested the District Collector to conduct a proper inquiry and hand over the land to them and help in the construction of the house. If the government does not take action, we will protest in the area along with our family.
