Coimbatore: Labour Welfare and Skill Development Minister C V Ganesan has said that the Chief Minister has created a situation where students can go to work as soon as they finish their studies.

Labour Welfare and Skill Development Minister C V Ganesan is in Coimbatore to attend various events.

As a part of the programme, he inspected the Government Iti for Men and The Government Industrial Training Institute for Women at Thudiyalur on Mettupalayam Road.

Minister C V Ganesan interacted with the students and teachers present there. In this situation, the men at the Government Industrial Training Institute welcomed the Minister and on the board was written 'thottanai thoorum', which begins with 'thottanai thoorum'.

In that Thirukkural, instead of 'thottanai thoorum', it was wrongly written as 'thottanaithu oorum'.

The Minister noticed this and pointed out the mistake by reading the Thirukural as a line of writing. He also instructed them to correct Thirukural correctly without error.

Following this, Minister C V Ganesan told reporters.

The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu has established 72 Modern Technology Centres in 102 ITIs in Tamil Nadu at a cost of Rs.2871 crores to generate employment opportunities for the studying youth.

As a result, the Chief Minister has created an opportunity for the youth to work in world class institutions. The building has been constructed at ITI, Coimbatore at a cost of Rs 3.73 crore. Equipment worth Rs 31 crore has been purchased. This has been done jointly by the government and Tata Technologies.

More than 1,400 students are studying in the Government Industrial Training Institute, Coimbatore. We have instructed the college principal that I should explain the naan mudhalvan thittathai to the students. What can students study?, What training can they get?, How to get a scholarship?, The website was designed to know about the job.

The government aims at creating compulsory employment opportunities for students from all walks of life. Students who complete their studies should not have a job. The Chief Minister has created a situation where the students go to work as soon as they finish their studies.

100 per cent students have enrolled in 53 ITIs and 93 per cent in 73 ITIs. A large number of students are being enrolled. We are expecting 95% enrolment this year. The chief minister has instilled confidence that those studying ITI will get jobs. This is what he said.
