Palladam MLA MSM Anandan petitions Tirupur Collector to expedite Outer Ring Road work

According to the petition, during the previous AIADMK regime, a project report for the Outer Ring Road was prepared to ease traffic congestion in Palladam constituency and the work was not started after the change of government.

Tirupur: Palladam constituency MLA and former minister M S M Anandan spoke after he filed a petition at the district collectorate alleging that palladam constituency was being neglected by the ruling party as it was the constituency of an AIADMK legislator.

M S M Anandan, MLA from Palladam constituency and former minister, met District Collector Christuraj at the Tirupur district collectorate and submitted a petition.

According to the petition, during the previous AIADMK regime, a project report for the Outer Ring Road was prepared to ease traffic congestion in Palladam constituency and the work was not started after the change of government, when an administrative order was issued granting administrative sanction for acquiring land at a cost of Rs 45 crore. It should be examined and action should be taken to start the work and take steps to solve the drinking water problem in Palladam. Underground sewerage facilities should be provided in 18 wards of Palladam Municipality.

The demands include providing road connectivity in 10 wards of Tirupur Corporation under Palladam assembly constituency.

Speaking to reporters after submitting the petition, he said that various schemes have been implemented for Tirupur district during the previous AIADMK regime. Since they have now been abandoned, there is a situation where the public is facing a lot of difficulties and steps should be taken to improve it. He said that as an MLA, he is not given an invitation for any event held in Palladam Municipality. He also alleged that palladam constituency as an AIADMK legislator was being ignored by the ruling party.

He also said that in palladam assembly constituency, in the name of DMK district secretary, an MLA from other constituencies will inaugurate government welfare schemes. If the situation continues, a blockade will be held at an event attended by the DMK district secretary at a government function, he said.
