Coimbatore: The 2,000-year-old Perur temple in Coimbatore has seen a crowd since early morning to offer tarpan to the ancestors on the occasion of Aadi Amavasai.

People perform tarpan to their ancestors in the river at Perur Padithurai on the occasion of Aadi Amavasai. Unlike last year, there is no rain and no water in the river this year.

As a result, the temple management has set up showers for devotees who perform the tarpanam from time to time.

Therefore, the public has started coming in large numbers since early morning. More than 100 police personnel are deployed for security.
