Two youth die in two-wheeler accident near Udumalpet

The youth were on their way home from Malaiyandigoundanur when their two-wheeler veered out of control and hit a nearby bridge leaving both grievously injured.



Tirupur: Two youth who were on a two-wheeler from Malaiyandigoundanur were killed on Monday near Udumalpet when their two-wheeler veered out of control near Karuppattipalayam and hit a nearby bridge. 

The deceased have been identified as Sanjay (21), son of Ayyappan of Kumaralingam Indira Street near Udumalpet in Tirupur district who works at a private two-wheeler parts shop in Udumalpet, and Rahul (20), son of Sundaresan, a resident of the same locality who works as a driver. They were on their way home after visiting Malaiyandigoundanur and were on a two-wheeler. 

Since both men were grievously injured in the accident, they were inititally administered first-aid treatment at the Udumalai Government Hospital and then rushed to Coimbatore Government Hospital for further treatment. 

Sanjay succuumbed to his injuries on the way to the Coimbatore Government Hospital. Rahul, who was undergoing treatment at a the Government Hospital in Coimbatore, died on Monday afternoon.

The Udumalai police have registered a case in this regard and are investigating.
