When Kathiravan, younger brother of DMK councillor Loku, along with panchayat officials, took a JCB vehicle to clear the long-standing sewage canal at Pongalur area under Avinasipalayam police station limits in Tirupur district, BJP members started to allegedly accuse of trying to kill them

The Avinasipalayam police have registered a case against two DMK workers and panchayat officials on the basis of a complaint lodged by Selvakumar's relatives and BJP workers alleging that they tried to kill a BJP functionary from the same locality, Selvakumar, who was accused of attempting to kill him by hoisting a JCB.

In this situation, at the instigation of the BJP, a false case is being filed against the DMK leaders. In Pongalur area, an individual has encroached upon and constructed a sewage canal.
