Coimbatore Police Hunt for Unidentified Suspects after Rs 70 Lakh stolen from car parked in Private restaurant

Police in Coimbatore have launched a massive search for unidentified persons who broke open the glass pane of a car parked in the premises of a private restaurant and stole Rs 70 lakh.



Coimbatore: Police are looking for unidentified persons who broke open the glass pane of a car parked on the premises of a private restaurant in Coimbatore and stole Rs 70 lakh.

Easwaramoorthy (51), a real estate baron, is from SS Kulam in Coimbatore. He had driven to Annapurna restaurant near Chitra on Avinashi Road last night with Rs 70 lakh in cash to pay money to Kannan, his profession.

He then parked his car outside the restaurant and walked inside to eat while waiting for Kannan. When he returned after some while, he was astounded to see that his car's rear windshield had been broken. When he looked inside immediately, he found that Rs 70 lakh cash kept in the car had gone missing.

He then lodged a complaint with the Peelamedu police. Based on the complaint, the police have opened an investigation and are looking for the miscreants who broke the glass pane of the car and stole the money using CCTV footage.
