Rs 2.39 crore in bank accounts of fraudsters frozen - Cyber crime police in Coimbatore district

Raja, a native of Kavundampalayam in Coimbatore, lost Rs 23.82 lakh after falling into the trap of an online fraud gang. Based on the complaint, the cyber crime police are investigating the matter. Rs 2.39 crore in the bank accounts of the fraudsters has been frozen.



Coimbatore: The Coimbatore district cyber crime police have frozen Rs 2.39 crore in the bank account of an online fraud gang.

Raja hails from Kavundampalayam in Coimbatore. He was looking for a part-time job on the internet. He received a link from the social networking site Telegram app. When they clicked on it, they showed the desire that if they did small jobs on the internet, they would get a lot of money for it.

Relying on it, he invested a small amount and got the money. Then, as we say, if you invest a lot of money, you will get many times more profits. Believing it, Raja invested Rs 23.82 lakh through telegram activity.

But after that he did not get any money, following which he realised that he had been cheated. He lodged a complaint with the Coimbatore district cyber crime police. In this case, the police conducted an investigation on the orders of SP Badrinarayanan and examined the bank accounts of the fraudsters.

It was found that Rs 2.39 crore was fraudulently received from several people in those bank accounts. That amount was frozen. The police are taking steps to get the money due to the victim Raja.

In this situation, the police have warned the public not to be deceived by the words of the fraudsters.
