Wage issue: Contract sanitation workers protest at Coimbatore government hospital

The contract sanitation workers at the Coimbatore government hospital are on strike demanding payment of the wages fixed by the Tamil Nadu government.


Coimbatore: At the Coimbatore government hospital, nearly 300 people work as contract sanitation workers.

In this condition, they have been protesting for several phases, demanding that the Tamil Nadu government pay the 721 rupees that the government has announced.



Following this, three months ago, the protests were called off after the district collector instructed them to pay Rs 721.



In this situation, the contract sanitation workers working at the Coimbatore Government Hospital are on strike today demanding that the salaries announced by the District Collector have not been paid till now and that they should be paid the prescribed wages immediately.



They have also said that they will also submit their demand to the Coimbatore district collector in this regard.
