20 Years in Jail for Udumalai Youth Who Sexually Assaulted 13-Year-Old Girl

Gokulakrishnan, of Udumalpet, was sentenced to 20 years in prison by the Tirupur Mahila Court for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl near Udumalai in Tirupur district. It has also awarded Rs 5 lakh in compensation for the victim girl.


Tirupur: Gokulakrishnan (21) hails from a village near Udumalpet in Tirupur district. In 2022, he raped a 13-year-old girl on the pretext of marrying her.

Based on a complaint lodged by the girl's mother, the Udumalpet police arrested Gokulakrishnan under the POCSO Act. The trial in the case was going on at the Tirupur Mahila Court.

The verdict in this case has been delivered at this point. Gokulakrishnan was sentenced to 20 years rigorous imprisonment and fined Rs 5,000 by Justice Baalu.

It also ordered Rs 5 lakh in compensation for the victim. Gokulakrishnan was imprisoned in Coimbatore Central Jail following the judgement.
