The golden jubilee of the 50th anniversary of women police personnel joining the Tamil Nadu Police is being celebrated. A 50-kilometer bicycle ride was organised in Coimbatore to honor the
women constables' work.
'No helmet, no ride... The cycle journey was also undertaken with an awareness of 'Follow Road Traffic Rules'. The bicycle expedition was led by Vishnu Ram, a well-known rider.
The meeting was attended by Coimbatore City Police Commissioner Balakrishnan, Corporation Commissioner Prathap, Deputy Commissioner Suhasini, cyclist Vishnu Ram, police officials and members of the general public.
The cycling journey began at the city police commissioner's office and ended in Selvapuram, passing through R S Puram, Vadavalli, Madampatti, Thondamuthur, Devarayapuram, and Perur.
It should be mentioned that they travelled 50 kilometres in 2 hours and 43 minutes.
