BJP functionary Selvakumar arrested for slandering defamatory comments about Minister Senthil Balaji in Coimbatore

Coimbatore Cyber Crime Police arrested Selvakumar, the state vice-president of the BJP's Business wing, for making baseless and derogatory comments against Minister Senthil Balaji on social media. Selvakumar is also being investigated in connection with a cheating case against him in Karur district.


Coimbatore: Bjp's labour wing state vice-president Selvakumar has been arrested by the police for allegedly making derogatory comments on social media and inciting violence.

The cyber crime police are keeping a close watch on people who are posting inciting violence on social media in Coimbatore city.

Meanwhile, BJP's vice-president of industries, Selvakumar, has been making derogatory comments about the Minister of Electricity and inciting violence between the two groups on Twitter.

Suresh Kumar, a member of the DMK's IT cell, lodged a complaint with the Cyber Crime Police in Coimbatore city. Based on the complaint, police registered a case and arrested BJP's labour wing state vice-president Selvakumar on Wednesday.

Investigations revealed that a case was already pending against him in 2022 and he was out on anticipatory bail in the case.

Police officials said, the posts and retweets posted by Selvakumar on his Twitter page have triggered various issues.

A case has been registered and arrested as the police received repeated calls in this regard. Selvakumar is also being investigated in connection with a cheating case against him in Karur district.
