Guardian deity of Pollachi: Mariamman Temple Festival 2023 celebrated with religious ferver

On the occasion of the famous Mariamman temple festival at Pollachi in Coimbatore district, thousands of people had darisanam of the goddess who was paraded in a silver chariot dressed in red silk.



Tirupur: The famous Mariamman car festival, which is the guardian deity of the people of Pollachi, began with fasting on Tuesdays from the last month of Panguni.

Subsequently, the devotees were paying their obeisance by taking flowers and punching the beak. Yesterday morning they took the maavilakku and worshipped the Goddess.

The main event of the festival, Mariamman, was held last night in the silver chariot of Mariamman.



In a silver car decorated with electric lights, Amman appeared before the devotees in a red silk dress with special decorations.



Thousands of people had darshan of it with devotion. Priest Thyagarajan said that in order to remove adharma and establish dharma, Mariamman dressed in red silk and bestowed prosperity on all living beings in the world and that the people should get all the resources through the grace of Amman.
