Commissioner inspects Coimbatore Corporation areas, advises sanitation workers

Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Prathap inspected the ongoing cleanliness works in the areas under the corporation limits. Commissioner Prathap directed the officials to complete the project work at the earliest.


Coimbatore: Commissioner Prathap inspected various development projects in the North and South zones of Coimbatore Corporation.

Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner M. Prathap inspected the process of segregating and collecting biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste sludge by the corporation safai karamcharis at Kuniyamuthar, Raismill Road under ward no.88 of Coimbatore Corporation South Zone.

He instructed the sanitation workers to create awareness among the public in the area to classify the garbage into biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste.



Following this, the Corporation Commissioner, who inspected the primary health centre in kuniyamuthur, government employees' quarters area, directed the concerned officer to carry out the maintenance work of the hospital.



Later, he inspected the construction of 4 new classrooms and toilets under the Namakku Naame project at the Corporation Higher Secondary School on Raismil Road.



Commissioner Prathap, who inspected the park in the government employees' quarters area, directed the concerned officer to carry out the renovation work.



Following this, he inspected the Selvachintamani tank under coimbatore corporation,



south zone and directed the officials concerned to remove the lotus and plastic debris from the tank and carry out maintenance work.



Construction of 5 additional classrooms at Kavundampalayam Corporation Middle School under Ward 18 of Coimbatore Corporation North Zone at an estimated cost of Rs.90 lakh,



Construction of storm water drain at a cost of Rs.30 lakh from public funds at Ganapathy, Ganesh Layout Nagar under Ward 30.



Commissioner M. Prathap personally inspected the construction work of the bus stand at Aavarampalayam area under ward no.28 at an estimated cost of Rs.10.20 lakh from the MLA's fund.



Similarly, road works for a length of 855 metres at Aavarampalayam in ward 27 at an estimated cost of Rs.57.38 lakh under Tamil Nadu Sustainable Urban Roads Development Project Phase-I are in progress.



Commissioner M. Prathap personally inspected the works including the construction of the newly constructed Urban Primary Health Centre at Peelamedu area under ward no.26 at an estimated cost of Rs.1.2 crore and enquired with the engineers about the works.



Corporation Deputy Mayor Vetriselvan, South Zone President Dhanalakshmi, Councillors SenthilKumar, Babu, Assistant Commissioner Annadurai, Assistant Executive Engineer Karuppasamy, Assistant Town Planning Officer Satpa, Health Officer Andiappan, Assistant Engineers Ganesan, Kanagarajal, Health Inspector Dhanapal and corporation officials were present during the inspection.
