Token strike by Government staff demanding time scale and regularisation of service in Dharapuram

For the last 20 years, protests have been continuing demanding the implementation of the old pension scheme for all.


Tirupur: The Tamil Nadu Government Employees Association staged a one-day token strike in front of Dharapuram taluk office demanding to implement the old pension scheme.



Slogans were raised demanding a time scale and statutory pension.

"For the last 20 years, protests have been continuing demanding the implementation of the old pension scheme for all" the government employees said.



It was urged that the Tamil Nadu government should immediately implement the basic requirements including surrender leave pay and settle unpaid arrears.



It was also urged to extend time scale to Anganwadi workers, revenue village assistants, Panchayat secretaries, librarians and other employees who are thus far receiving only honorarium.
