Lone Tusker damages coconut crop near Mavuthampathi

Sathish Kumar, the farmer, has appealed to the forest department to give compensation for 11 coconut saplings which were fully damaged due to crop raiding by the wild elephant.


Coimbatore: A lone tusker which entered the coconut grove damaged the coconut crops in Muruganpathi village near Mavuthampathi.



The elephant entered the grove of a farmer Sathish Kumar and uprooted and damaged to 11 coconut saplings.

According to the affected farmer, a lone wild elephant has been frequenting his farm and It damaged the fencing for the grove a week back.



When the elephant started rampaging the grove, the farmer shouted aloud to chase it away.
