City Police swoop on 13 rowdies involved in a gang fight in the city

Police have warned that stern action would be taken against the elements who conduct “ Kangaroo courts” and post violent videos on social media platforms.


Coimbatore: A Special Police Team arrested 13 notorious rowdies, who were allegedly involved in criminal activities and gang fights.

Remand prisoners Gokul and Sathya Pandi were recently hacked to death by a rival gang in Coimbatore. Based on the orders of Commissioner of Police Balakrishnan, the police are taking various measures to crack down on the gangs of rowdies.

In the meanwhile, a special team comprising of Deputy Commissioner Sandeesh, Assistant Commissioner Ravi and Inspector Deivamani arrested 30 persons in connection with the recent gang fight in RS Puram, where deadly weapons were used.

In a recent round-up of rowdies, Police arrested George Stephen, Zafar (a) Rahulram, Selvakumar, Udhayakumar, Kesavan, Subramanian, Vasan, Surya, Sakthivel, Saravanan, Sabari Raj, Prakash, and Pradeep Kumar.
