TNAU conducts training on 'Promoting Agri-Enterprises Support to Agri-Entrepreneurs' at Coimbatore campus

About 30 entrepreneurs from Krishnagiri District in Food, Agriculture and allied sectors participated in the training program.


Coimbatore: The Agribusiness Incubation Society (ABIS) – Technology Business Incubator (TBI) in coordination with the Directorate of Agribusiness Development, TNAU in Coimbatore conducted a two-day training on 'Promoting Agri-Enterprises Support to Agri-Entrepreneurs' under the Tamil Nadu Irrigated Agriculture Modernisation Project (TNIAMP) by the Department of Agricultural Marketing and Agri-Business (DAMAB) on March 6 and 7 at the city's TNAU campus.



About 30 entrepreneurs from Krishnagiri District in Food, Agriculture and allied sectors participated in the training program. Dr. D Suresh Kumar, Director (CARDS) inaugurated the training and delivered a lecture on 'TNAU Farm Services Through Agricultural Marketing Information System.' A V Gnanasambandam, CEO – ABIS welcomed the participants of the training and Dr. M Malarkodi, Associate Professor (ARM) & Training Coordinator proposed the vote of thanks.



The training was focussed on business plan preparation, cost of business plan, investment planning and analysis, Technology Business Incubator support and services and hands-on training on value addition of fruits and vegetables. The Technology Business Incubator start-ups also shared their entrepreneurial journey with the trainees.

After this training, the eligible trainees will be financially supported for setting up new processing, value addition and packing facilities with a maximum of Rs. 5 lakhs and TNIAMP will support with a subsidy of Rs. 2 lakhs, bank loans Rs.2 lakhs and balance Rs.1 lakh as promoter contribution.
