Jharkhand native arrested from Potheri town for posting fake videos on social media on the plight of migrant workers in Tamil Nadu

Recently, a fake video went viral on social media in which it was portrayed that the migrant workers from North India were being targeted and killed in Tamil Nadu.


Coimbatore: Manoj Yadav, a native of Jharkhand, was arrested from Potheri town in Chengalpattu district for allegedly posting fake videos of migrant workers from the northern states being attacked in Tamil Nadu.

Recently, a video went viral on social media in which it was portrayed that the migrant labourers from North India were being targeted and killed in Tamil Nadu.

These fake rumours also echoed in the Bihar Assembly and created a lot of buzz around the issue.

In the meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin has warned that strict action will be taken against those spreading rumours about migrant workers from North India. Similarly, in Bihar too, a 10-member special team was constituted to probe the issue.

Bihar ADGP Jitendra Singh Gangawar said that a person has been arrested for spreading rumours that migrants from the North werebeing targeted andkilled.

In the meanwhile, the Delhi High Court has directed Uttar Pradesh BJP office-bearer Prashant Umara Rao, who is embroiled in the case, to approach the Madras High Court within 10 days and seek relief, including anticipatory bail.



The issue of migrant workers issue has garnered much public attention in recent times, due to rumours spread in social media and political parties have condemned it.
