District Collector inspects ongoing developmental works in Madukkarai Panchayat Union

District Collector inspected the ongoing works for the block development office at Madukkarai which is constructed at the cost of Rs.3.97 crore.


Coimbatore: District Collector Kranthikumar Padi inspected the ongoing development works in Madukkarai panchayat union limits.

“While 650 works have been taken up at an estimated cost of Rs.17.40 crore, 303 works have been completed another 347 works are in progress” the collector said.



The works have been implemented under various schemes including Anna Marumalarchi Thittam, Repair of Library Works, Finance Commission Grants, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin), Green Houses, 15th Finance Commission Grant (Block Panchayat), 15th Finance Commission Grant (District Panchayat), District Collector inspected the ongoing works for the block development office at Madukkarai which is constructed at the cost of Rs.3.97 crore

Subsequently, he inspected the renovation of a park in Madukkarai Municipality at a cost of Rs.25.46 lakhs and the production of micro-fertilizers and the completion of 14 houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana at a single place in Mavuthampathi Panchayat at a cost of Rs.33.60 lakhs.



Following this, the District Collector inspected the fair price shop of The Navakarai Agricultural Producers' Association and directed the concerned officer to issue a show cause notice to the employee of the shop after he came to know that the goods were distributed without registration.

The District Collector also inspected the Civil Supplies Shop constructed at a cost of Rs.15.10 lakhs under the Namakku Naame Scheme and the Child Welfare Centre constructed under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme at a cost of Rs.9.76 lakhs.



The District Collector personally visited the Panchayat Union Primary School in Puthupati tribal village and inspected it and interacted with the students.

Madukkarai Municipality Chairman Noorjahan Nasser, Municipal Commissioner Pichaimani, Vice Chairman Ramesh Kumar, Block Development Officer Dhanalakshmi and others accompanied the collector.
