Youth arrested for robbing security guard at knife point near Ganapathy

When the old man refused to part with any money the youth took out a knife and threatened the elderly man before robbing Rs 500 from him.


Coimbatore: Coimbatore: Saravanampatti police have arrested Adithyan, who threatened Swaminathan, a security guard working with a private firm in Ganapathy and robbed him at knifepoint.

According to Police, Swaminathan (52) is a resident of Ganapathy area. He has been working as a security guard in the same area for the past 13 years.

Swaminathan, after completing his work, was walking through the Vinayaka Garden area when a youth waylaid him and robbed him of Rs.500.



When the old man refused to part with any money the youth took out the knife and threatened the elderly man before robbing Rs 500 from him.

Swaminathan has lodged a complaint with the Saravanampatti police in this regard.

The Saravanampatti police registered a case and found that a youth named Adithyan was involved in the robbery.

Following which, the culprit was arrested and remanded in custody.
