In Aliyar area on the Valparai-Pollachi road in Coimbatore district, there has been an increase in the movement of a single wild elephant for the past few days and is damaging vehicles plying on the road. Motorists are in fear due to this.
In this situation, traffic was affected this evening as a single wild elephant stopped on the road in the Vaikkalmedu area next to the Aliyar check post.
This left the motorists in a state of panic.
As the elephant stopped on the elephant road for more than half an hour, the Aliyar check post forest department, who came to know about the information, chased the elephant into the forest area through a vehicle.
Motorists have been advised to be careful on the Valparai-Pollachi road as the movement of wild elephants is on the rise.
