OPS and EPS faction leaders react to AIADMK leadership issue in the wake of Supreme Court verdict

"I went to the Amma’s temple in Madurai and offered prayers praying for a good verdict by the blessings of MGR and Jayalalitha,” said Edapadi K Palanisamy.

Coimbatore: Following the Supreme Court verdict which upheld the Madras HC verdict and allowed the continuation of Edappadi K Palaniswami as General secretary of AIADMK, the leaders including TTV Dinakaran. Jayakumar and Pugazhendhi have expressed their views on the verdict

The following statements are the immediate reaction of the leaders in the wake of the verdict.

According to Edappadi K Palaniswami, Leader of the Opposition, ”I went to the Amma temple in Madurai and offered prayers praying for a good verdict by the blessings of MGR and Jayalalitha. This judgment is a blessing given by powerful leaders who have become deities themselves” he said and added “Today's verdict has come as a verdict that would protect 1.5 crore AIADMK cadres.

Jayakumar, former AIADMK minister said “The future of OPS in politics is zero. No matter how much the Kauravas conspired, they could not succeed in history and the Pandavas won. We are like the Pandavas”.

"There is no place for OPS, Sasikala and TTV Dhinakaran in the AIADMK. We will accept if there are others willing to join the party” Jayakumar added.

TTV Dinakaran, AMMK general secretary said “The Supreme Court verdict is only a temporary victory for Edappadi K Palaniswami and the AIADMK will be further weakened if Edappadi K Palaniswami is given two leaves on the basis of the Supreme Court verdict.”

Vaithilingam, an OPS supporter said, “We are not affected by the court verdict. The court has only said that the General body meeting will stand. We will file a case against the resolutions passed by the General body”.

Pugazhendhi, an OPS supporter said, “ A civil suit is already pending over who will assume the party leadership between the Coordinator and Co-Coordinator. So we will wait for that”.
