Jishnu Jeevith from Coimbatore who is trained at Mullai Martial Arts and Sports Academy at Chinnavedampatti, set an international record for performing Ribbon Silambam Single Stick Rotation for seven hours straight at the Einstein Public School, Ganapathy, on Sunday.
Coimbatore: Jishnu Jeevith, a 9-year-old girl from Coimbatore set an international record for performing Ribbon Silambam Single Stick Rotation for seven hours straight. The event took place at Einstein Public School, Ganapathy, on Sunday.
Mullai Martial Arts and Sports Academy at Chinnavedampatti, Coimbatore, has been training students above five years of age in India's traditional martial arts which includes Silambam, Adimurai, Vel Kambu, Sword Fight, Valari Mankombu and Surul Vaal (Curling blade). Students associated with this Academy have continued to create global records along with various other achievements.
Adding more feathers to the Academy's cap is Jishnu Jeevith, a student residing at Chinnavedampatti who created a record for performing Ribbon Silambam Single Stick Rotation for seven hours. This was initiated as a step to create awareness ahead of International Mother Language Day which is observed on February 21.
Jishnu Jeevith's feat has been recorded in the Indian Book of Records, American Book of Records and European Book of Records in the presence of three adjudicators and members of the Academy.
