Tirupur:In a freak accident the driver and conductor of a TNSTC bus, who were attending to a mechanical fault in the front wheel were crushed to death when another speeding bus lost control and collided head-on with the stationary bus parked on the roadside near Dharapurm.

According to police, a TNSTC bus from Tirupur was on its way to Bodinayakanur via Dharapuram on the Oddanchatiram bypass road at the Chalakkadai area around midnight.

Suddenly, there was a mechanical fault with the front wheel of the bus due to which the bus crew Paul Kannan and Murugan were engaged in attending to it.

Even as they informed the private patrol and recovery vehicle, it arrived on the spot and barricaded the rear of the stationary bus preventing ongoing traffic from hitting the bus. The rear indicators were also made to flash on.

The passengers on both buses, however, escaped unhurt.
