Tipplers use the open ground in front of the District Collectorate, to consume liquor and leave the liquor bottles in front of the Collectorate gate, thus causing inconvenience to the public.

Coimbatore: There is a ground in front of the District Collectorate, which is frequented by tipplers during nighttime, to consume liquor and spend time.

“The tipplers, who gather at night in this area not only consume alcohol there but also get drunk and litter the area with liquor bottles in front of the Collectorate gate” allege social activists.

Despite having CCTV cameras, they routinely do this on a daily basis without any fear and no action has been taken to check this menace.

The general public has requested the authorities to protect the area from becoming an open bar for the tipplers.
