I don't support anyone in Erode by-election - TTV Dinakaran

AMMK general secretary TTV Dhinakaran has said that the Edappadi K Palaniswami faction will not win the Erode by-election as it has got the 'two leaves' (irattai ilai) symbol as the power for the two leaves is no longer there.

Chennai: Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam general secretary TTV Dinakaran held a press conference at the party's headquarters in Royapettah.

"There is no support for anyone in Erode East by-election. No one spoke to me and made me withdraw the AMMK candidate. We were hoping to get a better vote share than we had hoped to win in Erode East.

There is no contest in the Erode East by-election due to lack of a cooker symbol. I did not contest because if you contest on a different symbol without the cooker symbol, there will be confusion.

In this by-election, there is no support for the two parties - AIADMK and DMK. The public know whom to vote for. The AMMK will not support the evil forces and the treacherous forces in Erode East.

The AMMK will contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections on the cooker symbol. I don't understand why the cooker symbol was not given in the by-election.

"We were campaigning in the hope of getting the cooker symbol in the by-elections," he said.

TTV Dinakaran further said, "Will the AIADMK win the by-election only if it gets the two leaves symbol? AIADMK cadres have no confidence that it will win.

AMMK's volunteers have to work together in a team to defeat the DMK. I did not say that we should join the same party, I wanted to work together as a team.

The DMK is spending more money using power to win this by-election. OPS is my friend and I have a special affection for him.

The reason why we are not contesting this by-election is only because of the Election Commission and there is no political reason.

Edappadi Palanisamy's team will not win because it got the two leaves symbol. The power for the double leaf is no longer there, because it is in the hands of the wrong people. This is how he spoke.
