Bike theft continues in Palladam; police investigation yields no results so far

As incidents of bike theft continue to occur at night in Palladam, the public have demanded that the police should intensify night patrolling.



Tirupur: In the wake of increasing incidents of theft of two-wheelers in and around Palladam in Tirupur district, the police are struggling to trace the culprits despite CCTV evidence.

For the past three days, two-wheelers have been stolen at night in Palladam and surrounding areas like Rayarpalayam, Venkatapuram and Pachapalayam.

CCTV footage of thieves breaking the locks of two-wheelers and stealing them has been doing the rounds.

Nikhil, a resident of Palladam Pachapalayam, parked his expensive two-wheeler in front of his house around midnight last night.



Shocked to find his two-wheeler missing when he woke up in the morning, Nikhil lodged a complaint with the Palladam police station.

Visuals of an unidentified person stealing a two-wheeler in the middle of the night were captured on a CCTV camera nearby. Palladam police are investigating the theft incident.



Similarly, a two-wheeler belonging to Velusamy, who lives opposite the Palladam bus stand, was also stolen by unidentified miscreants last night.

They also tried to break the two vehicles parked in front of Velusamy's house and could not break it and only stole velusamy's vehicle.

In the last three days, two-wheelers have been stolen continuously at night at seven places. Palladam police are struggling to nab the thieves despite CCTV evidence.

In this situation, the people of Palladam have been demanding that the police should intensify night patrolling across the area.
