Cotton auctioned for Rs 72.54 lakh at Moolanur Regulated market in Dharapuram

At the regulated market at Mulanur in Tiruppur district a total of 2790 bags of cotton were put on sale, which fetched Rs 72,54,256.


Tirupur: Indirect auction of cotton was held at Mulanur Regulated Market In Tiruppur District today

A total of 264 farmers from Tiruppur, Karur, Trichy, Dindigul, Erode and Coimbatore districts had brought their cotton for sale.

Traders from Tiruppur, Dindigul, Erode, Salem and Coimbatore districts also participated in the indirect auction to procure cotton.



The maximum price was Rs 8,650 per quintal, the lowest price was Rs 6,500 and the average price was Rs 7,850 was quoted.

According to Senior Secretary of Tirupur Sales Committee Kannan “A total of 2790 bags of cotton were on sale.

Accordingly, 920.64 quintals of cotton was sold for a sum of 72,54,256. About 9 traders purchased the cotton through indirect auctions”
