Dharapuram Divisional Electricity Board Executive Engineer Balan has announced that it will be mandatory for the general public and small and micro enterprises to link their Aadhaar number with their electricity connections by March 31.
Dharapuram: The Dharapuram Divisional Electricity Board has made it mandatory to link Aadhaar number with electricity connection by March 31.
In a statement, V Balan, Executive Engineer, Dharapuram Divisional Electricity Board, said:
All household, handloom, power loom, cottage electricity connections under Dharapuram division, electricity consumers will have to mandatorily link their Aadhaar number with the electricity connection.
There are 20 Unit Offices of the Electricity Board functioning in Dharapuram Division. Special counters have been set up in all section offices to link Aadhaar number with the electricity consumers in their respective offices.
Steps have been taken to link Aadhaar number by setting up a special camp. In case of failure, officers and employees will personally visit the homes of the power consumers to get the Aadhaar number for the connections where the Aadhaar number is not linked.
At the same time, all the consumers have been asked to furnish their Aadhaar number and other details to the employees by January 31, 2020.
