Patient protests in Dharapuram government hospital against doctors

Patient goes on dharna protest at Dharapuram government hospital entrance to protest against doctors who allegedly discharged him without proper treatment.

Tirupur: A patient sat at the entrance of the Dharapuram government hospital and staged a protest.

Duraisamy and Shakuntala are a couple from Karungalivalasu AD Colony near Dharapuram in Tiruppur district. Their son Vignesh (23),a B.Ed graduate, was admitted as an in-patient at Dharapuram Government Hospital four days ago after sustaining a head injury.

Doctors at the Dharapuram government hospital have allegedly not been giving proper treatment for the last four days. It is also said that after getting Vignesh's signature for the scan, Vignesh was discharged after three hours.

Vignesh and his relatives sat on a dharna in front of the entrance of the hospital to protest against the doctors for cheating Vignesh by not giving him proper treatment and obtaining his signature. They raised slogans demanding proper treatment.

After the Dharapuram police held talks with them, they called off the protest and dispersed.
