The Kongu Youth Forum President Thaniyarasu warned that AIADMK will not get even traditional votes and if Edappadi K Palaniswami comes to the field, leaving Dinakaran and OPS behind, people will ignore him in the by-elections.
Chennai: U Thaniyarasu, the President of the Kongu Youth Forum held discussions at OPS' residence on Green Way Road in Chennai, and later paid floral tributes to the martyrs of the war.
Briefing the media thereafter, Thaniyarasu opined that people will oppose Edappadi K Palaniswami's arbitrary attitude in the by-elections. "AIADMK is a strongly-structured movement by Puratchi Thalaivar MGR and Puratchi Thalaivi J Jayalalithaa. OPS invited me to speak at the Erode East by-election. Following that, I came here and held discussions.
In Erode East constituency, the DMK is strong without a split in the votes. But the AIADMK is in a state of disarray due to lack of unity. On behalf of the Kongu Youth Forum, I appreciate the efforts of O Panneerselvam. In general, the AIADMK appears to be a bit electorally shaky. We are also seeing people meeting allies in strengthening the party and working for victory.
The people will oppose his autocratic attitude in the elections. If Edappadi K Palaniswami comes to the field, people will boycott him, excluding Dinakaran and OPS. Even the traditional votes of the AIADMK will not be gained."
O Panneerselvam addressed the media later saying, "We will take the nomination papers only after telling you to contest the Erode assembly by-election on behalf of the AIADMK. We will announce the candidate only after telling you. We are also meeting party leaders who are aligned with us for the assembly by-elections and they are also meeting us," he added.
