Indian Gaur found dead near Valparai in Coimbatore; Forest Department inspection underway

Following a tip-off that an indian gaur was found dead in a forest area near Karumalai Estate near Valparai, the forest department has recovered the carcass of the Indian Gaur and is investigating.


Coimbatore: The movement of wild animals in the estate areas around Valparai in Coimbatore district has been on the rise for the past few months.

In this situation, there is a forest area near karumalai estate residential area next to Valparai. This forest area is home to a large number of wild animals like Indian Gaur, bear, deer, elephants etc.

The people of the area saw two buffaloes fighting in the forest area four days ago. In this situation, it is said that there was a foul smell in the forest area on Sunday.



When he went nearby, he found a buffalo lying dead. On seeing this, the passersby informed the forest department.



Based on this, a team of forest officials led by forest ranger Venkatesh reached the spot and conducted an inspection. The study found injuries on the body of a dead wild buffalo.



According to the forest department, one of the buffaloes may have succumbed to his injuries after a fight broke out four days ago.

According to the forest department, the body of the dead wild buffalo will be informed to the forest department officials and immediately the autopsy will be conducted and buried.
