Minister M.P. Saminathan travels by bullock cart to have darshan at Arulmigu Aalkondamal Temple

Minister M. P. Saminathan visited the Arulmigu Aalkondamal Temple near Udumalpet in Tirupur district in a bullock cart and offered prayers.


Tirupur: Arulmigu Aalkondamal Temple is located at Somavarapatti near Udumalai in Tirupur district.



It is customary for the villagers from the surrounding areas to travel in bullock carts to have darshan of the deity.

During the Pongal festival, the “Salakeruthu Aattam” that is performed in this temple is also very popular.

This year's Pongal festival at the temple began on the January 16th. On the concluding day, Tamil Nadu Information Minister M P Saminathan travelled about a kilometre in a bullock cart to reach the Arulmigu Aalkondamal Temple.



He was accorded “Parivattam’ reception at the temple and he offered prayers at the temple.
