Swine Flu on the rise in Coimbatore, siblings detected with H1N1 virus admitted to GH.

The sudden incidence of Swine Flu in Coimbatore has caused panic among the public. The number of deaths and the patients currently undergoing treatment at the Coimbatore General Hospital are on a rise. 

Recently, a couple from Madukkarai, Dhandapani and Mallika were affected with H1N1 virus (swine flu) and were under-going treatment at the Madukkarai primary health centre. Despite, critical treatment, the couple not responding to treatment passed away last week. 

Following their death, it is now reported that their son and daughter, Krishnan (27) and Maragadham (25) were also detected to have infected with swine flu. The duo are presently admitted at the Coimbatore General Hospital for critical treatment. 

The spread of the H1N1 virus to the children of the Swine flu victims has instilled a sense of trepidation among the residents of Madukkarai area. The residents have urged that concerned health and sanitation department officials should initiate immediate steps to cease the spread of this disease.
