Elderly man falls to his death while plucking coconut near Ganapathi

Saravanampatti police have registered a case and are investigating the death of an elderly man who fell down from the terrace and died while he was plucking coconuts in Maniyakarampalayam near Ganapathi.


Coimbatore: Rajendran (61), a native of Karaikudi in Sivaganga district. He was staying at his son's house in Maniyakarampalayam near Ganapathy in Coimbatore.

Rajendran was engaged in plucking coconuts from the terrace of his house and he accidentally slipped and fell to the ground and sustained injuries.

Rajendran, who was seriously injured in the accident, was rescued by his relatives and rushed to Coimbatore government hospital for treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries.

Saravanampatti police, who reached the spot recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem. A case has been registered and investigations are on.
