Children participate in Tamil Peravai's 'Samathuva Pongal' celebrations in Tiruppur

At the 'Samathuva Pongal' celebrations held on behalf of the Tamil Peravai in Tiruppur, children participated in the celebrations by playing 'parai' music.



Tirupur: Even as 'Samathuva Pongal' celebrations were held on behalf of the Tamil Peravai in Tiruppur, children were seen playing the fast-fading 'parai' music.



Employees of knitwear companies in Tiruppur had left to their respective natie places since Last Friday on the occasion of Thai Thirunalam Pongal festival.



But the 31st annual 'Samathuva Pongal' festival was celebrated amidst great festive cheer for three days on behalf of the Tamil Forum at Velliangadu in Tiruppur.



There were also dance performances by school children on Tuesday. Locals were enthralled as children, both boys and girls played 'parai' music, one of the dying arts of Tamil Nadu.
