Authorities investigate digging of burial pit in Tirupur's poramboke land

There was commotion near Palladam over a pit being dug to bury a corpse in the poramboke land, following which officials are investigating as to who could be responsible for the act.



Tirupur: The poramboke land opposite the Palladam Municipality office in Tirupur district was renovated and maintained on behalf of the Palladam Municipal administration a few months ago.

On Thursday morning, some people were seen digging a pit for a corpse in poramboke land near Palladam in Tirupur. Residents in the area and social activists questioned the digging of a burial pit in the land.



The shocked locals then informed the Palladam Tahsildar Nandagopal, Palladam Police and Municipal authorities, following which officials reached the spot and questioned the people who were digging the pit in the poramboke land.



On investigation, it was revealed that the people had dug the pit for wages. The Government officials are conducting an intensive investigation to ascertain the identity of the persons who were behind the act. A huge commotion arose in the area due to the act.
