Police seize 200 kg of ganja smuggled into Kerala near Walayar, two arrested

Police have seized 200 kg of ganja which was smuggled from Andhra Pradesh into Kerala by hiding the contraband in a fish cart. Two persons belonging to Mayiladuthurai have been arrested.


Coimbatore: Police have seized 200 kg of ganja which was smuggled from Andhra Pradesh wh into Kerala by hiding the contraband in a fish cart. Two persons belonging to Mayiladuthurai have been arrested.

The Police department has received a tip-off that ganja is being smuggled from Andhra Pradesh to Kerala via Coimbatore.

Based on this, the police kept a close watch near Walayar and intercepted the vehicle with a Karnataka registration number and conducted a search.



During the search, it was found that the ganja bundles were concealed between the fish boxes in the vehicle.Police seized 200 kg of ganja and arrested two persons from Mayiladuthurai for smuggling ganja.
