Public Grievances Day meeting held in Coimbatore; 46 petitions submitted to Mayor

Coimbatore Mayor Kalpana Anandakumar who received petitions from 46 people at the Public Grievances Day meeting which was held at the main office of Coimbatore Corporation, directed officials to take appropriate action on the petitions.


Coimbatore: A public Grievances Day Meeting was held at the main office of Coimbatore Corporation under the chairmanship of Mayor Kalpana Anandakumar on Tuesday.



Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation Commissioner M Prathap and Deputy Commissioner Dr. M Sharmila were present at the meeting.



At the meeting, 46 people from all parts of Coimbatore Corporation submitted their memorandums to Mayor Kalpana Anandakumar.



The petitions were received on various demands pertaining to basic amenities such as birth and death certificates, road facility, electric lights, drinking water facilities, underground sewerage, professional tax, property tax, vacancy tax, new civic connections, name change, medical, health and education.



Out of these, 6 petitions are from the eastern region, 7 petitions from the western region, 9 petitions ifrom the northern zone, 5 petitions from the southern zone, 9 petitions from the central zone and 10 petitions from the main office, totalling to 46 petitions which were submitted by the public.

Mayor Kalpana Anandakumar, who received the petitions stated that she directed the concerned Zonal Assistant Commissioners, Engineers and Officers to take immediate and appropriate action on these petitions. Zonal Assistant Commissioners Annadurai, Mohanasundari, Sekar, Muthu Ramalingam, Mahesh Ganakaraj (Po), Assistant Commissioner (Administration) Saravanan, Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) Senthil Kumar Rathinam, Assistant Commissioner (Accounts) Sundarraj, Assistant Executive Engineers, Assistant Town Planning Officers, Assistant Engineers, all Corporation officials and the general public participated in the meeting.
