Police arrest father-son duo for assaulting victim's parents who testified in POCSO case

Police have arrested a father-son duo for assaulting the parents of the girl who was sexually assaulted in Coimbatore. The parents had testified against the 20-year old perpetrator from Karadimadai who had been arrested under the POCSO Act and later released on bail.


Coimbatore: In an ongoing POCSO case of sexual harassment of a girl from Coimbatore, the police arrested 20-year-old Raghavendran from Karadimadai. The case is being heard in the special POCSO Court in Coimbatore, while Raghavendran is currently out on bail.

During the hearing of the case in the Court a few days ago, the girl's parents testified against Raghavendran. Enraged by this, Raghavendran and his father Rangarajan stormed into the girl's house and allegedly thrashed her parents.

The girl's parents lodged a complaint with the Thondamuthur police station. Following this, the police arrested Raghavendran and his father Rangarajan who were later produced before the Court and lodged in the Coimbatore Central Jail.
