Tirupur: Police received information that the body of a woman was found lying in a garbage dump in the Thekkalur area near Avinashi in Tirupur district.

Following this, the police rushed to the spot and recovered the body, which bore head injuries.

The deceased has been identified as Suganya (32), wife of Bakul, a resident of Mahalakshmi Nagar in Thekkalur.

Sukanya's first husband had died, and she was living with her son and daughter after getting married to Bakul. She had left Bakul six months back due to marital discord.

Suganya, who had separated from her second husband, had then come in contact with Saravanakumar, a resident of Rayarpalayam near Karumathampatti, and had been living with him for the past six months.

This morning Saravanakumar, in an inebriated state, contacted Bakul on his mobile phone and said that his wife had consumed poison and died.
