Subashree death: Police move case from missing person to suspicious death

The case of woman who went missing under mysterious circumstances from Isha Yoga Center has now been transferred under the category of suspicious death. It is to be noted that Periyar and CPI(M) parties staged a protest today



Coimbatore: Subashree, a native of Tirupur district, who went missing after undergoing training at the Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore, was found dead in a well in a garden in Semmedu area.

Earlier, the case registered as missing has now been converted into suspicious death (IPC 174) section. It is to be noted that Periyar and communist parties staged a protest today claiming that there was suspicion over her death.

Subashree, a native of Tirupur, had come to the Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore for training on the December 11th. Later, she came out of Isha Yoga Centre and disappeared at the end of training on the December 18th.

CCTV footage of Subhashree rushing out of the Isha Yoga Centre and running on the road without slippers and leaving all her belongings in Isha has created a stir.

Her husband Palanikumar lodged a missing complaint with the Alandarai police alleging that Subhasree had gone missing. The Alandarai police registered a case and formed a special team to search for the woman.

In this case, the body was found in a well in Semmedu area yesterday. Following this, the case registered as a woman's disappearance has been converted into a suspicious death.
