MP P R Natarajan leads demonstration demanding a thorough probe into the mysterious death of Subashree

Various Marxist, Ambedkarite and Periyarist organisations led by MP P R Natarajan staged a protest demanding a thorough investigation into the death of a woman Subashree, who disappeared and died under mysterious circumstances.

Coimbatore: Subashree, a native of Tirupur district, who had come to the Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore for Yoga training classes in December last had disappeared under mysterious circumstances. Her body was later found dead in a privately-owned well in the Iruttupallam area yesterday.

Police recovered the decomposed body of Subashree, from a private farm well and her husband Palanikumar identified it. Following this, Subashree's body was taken to Coimbatore government hospital for autopsy and later handed over to her relatives.

In this situation, Marxist, Ambedkarite and Periyarist organisations staged a protest in front of the Coimbatore South Tahsildar's office demanding a thorough probe into the death of Subashree, whose sudden disappearance and death has raised many questions.

Over 50 protesters raised slogans demanding a thorough probe into the death of Subashree and bringing out the truth behind her mysterious death.

Speaking to reporters during the protest, MP Natarajan said that the body of Subhasree was recovered from the well and immediately post-mortem was conducted and handed over to their relatives.

“Subashree was cremated by her relatives against the usual burial. This has created a lot of suspicion among the people. The mysterious death should be thoroughly probed as such deaths continue to take place in Isha Yoga Centre” the MP alleged.

The MP also urged that staff in Isha Yoga centre should be brought under the scope of police investigation to bring out the hidden truth.
