37- year old businessman who came from China via Singapore tests positive covid-19 at Coimbatore airport

The state health department is keeping a close watch on a man who returned from China to Coimbatore by air on a connecting flight from Singapore. The 37- year old man tested positive for covid-19.



Coimbatore: As the mutated covid-19 pandemic continues to threaten the world, India has started random testing of international passengers who arrive at international airports.

From September 23 to 28, as many as 9 international flights were operated to Coimbatore International Airport from Singapore and Sharjah. A total of 1,357 passengers arrived. Of them, about 2 per cent and 64 were randomly tested.

In this case, a 37- year old passenger from Salem district, who came to Coimbatore via Singapore from China, had tested positive for Coronavirus.

Following this, he has been quarantined at his home in Salem district. Salem district health department officials are also monitoring his health condition closely.

Meanwhile, the passengers who accompanied him on the flight are also being monitored by health officials.
