Pensioners' Day celebrations in Coimbatore - Demand for implementation of old pension scheme

At a function presided over by Balaraman, president of the Coimbatore District Retired Government Employees Union, As a special invitee, state president Gangadharan participated and inaugurated the function.



Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Retired Government Employees' Association celebrated pensioners' day on behalf of coimbatore district at Ramalinga Mandapam auditorium in Vadakovai Corporation today.



At a function presided over by Balaraman, president of the Coimbatore District Tamil Nadu Retired Government Employees Union, As a special invitee, state president Gangadharan attended the function and inaugurated the function and delivered the keynote address.

Earlier, speaking to reporters, district president Balaraman said, the state government should drop the new pension scheme as promised in the election manifesto and implement the old pension scheme.

Similarly, he made several demands, including that the state government should immediately disburse dearness allowance to the pensioners on the due date as provided by the Central government.



On the occasion, Dr. Matheswaran, founder of The Breath of Life Foundation and Chairman, Royal Care Hospital, and Krishnan, a community donor, retired officer, were felicitated with the award.



Vice-president Ramasundaram, association office bearers Mohammed Singaravelu Velusamy and others were present on the occasion.
