'BJP is not doing any politics over land acquisition for Annur Industrial Park' - Vanathi Srinivasan MLA

Vanathi Srinivasan inaugurated an open air gym near Chetty Street in Coimbatore. While briefing the press, she condemned the DMK for raising unimportant issues while people's problems to be solved are aplenty. " It is unnecessary to rake up the insignificant issues like BJP leader Annamalai's watch, pants and shoes" she said.

Coimbatore: Coimbatore South MLA Vanathi Srinivasan today inaugurated an open air gym at Balaji Avenue near Chetty Street in the city.

Speaking to reporters after the inauguration, she said, an open air gymnasium has been inaugurated at Balaji Avenue in Chetty Street area of South block today. She also observed such facilities are not created by the Government as often as necessary.

While dwelling on the state of damaged city roads, Vanathi said the main roads that are mostly used by people and traders such as Sullivan Street and Chetty street are in a bad condition with potholes, and observed even the Thanneer pandhal road, which was laid only two months ago has once again turned into pothole-ridden stretch".

"The district BJP unit would stage protests demanding to relay such bad roads in a week's time" Vanathi noted.

Vanathi also flagged the day-to-day issues of drinking water supply, sewerage, to be addressed by the authorities on a war footing.

"The sanitation works and water supply are not being carried out properly in various areas under the City Corporation limits" Vanathi said and added that contract sanitation workers are not paid properly which is affecting their work.

While condemning the Chief Minister Stalin for anointing his son to ministership she said and alleged that the DMK has become the party of one family "Family politics is always detrimental to the development of the state" she noted.

"Kith and kins do not attend the meeting of BJP ministers in other states.. Since the BJP is functioning democratically, all party members will be given responsibilities and positions. DMK, which was once a party that attracted youth, but presently there are no opportunities for newcomers and new talent in DMK, unlike in the BJP, which is welcoming youth and new comers" Vanathi noted.

"While there are thousand people's issues to be resolved insignificant questions about BJP President Annamalai's watch, shirt, pants, shoes are being raked up by a state minister, which is unnecessary" Vanathi noted.

While condemning the DMK for playing a double game in issues including the eight-lane road, Vanathi said BJP state president Annamalai staged a protest on the Annur farmers' issue.

"The BJP will always raise its voice on behalf of farmers" Vanathi noted.

"It is wrong to say that the BJP is doing politics on the issue of acquiring agricultural land to set up an industrial park in Annur. The BJP has not indulged in any politics. The ministers should sit with the farmers on the Annur issue and sort out the issues" Vanathi said.

The Coimbatore south legislator also alleged that under the Smart City project in Coimbatore, seven tanks are being renovated, but the works are moving in snail's pace.

"Due to the lack of sewage treatment plants, sewage is directly flowing into these tanks" Vanathi Srinivasan alleged.
