Police arrest 2 men for selling ganja at two different places in Coimbatore; Seize 3.1 kg ganja

Two persons who were involved in the sale of ganja near Periyanaickenpalayam and Kavundampalayam were caught red-handed and arrested by the police after seizing 3.1 kg of ganja from their possession.


Coimbatore: Coimbatore City Police has formed a special squad to curb the illegal activities of ganja drug dealers and peddlers, and launched an arrest drive to stop the sale of drugs.

Based on a tip-off, the Periyanaickenpalayam police in Coimbatore district conducted an intensive search in the Rakkipalayam area. Ravi (45), a resident of Kavundampalayam was arrested by the police for hoarding ganja for sale in the area. They also seized 2 kg of ganja from him.

Similarly, the police received information that ganja is being sold near Kalpana Theatre in Kavundampalayam near Thudiyalur. Based on the tip-off, the police carried out intensive surveillance in the area. Udayachandran (39), a native of Mettupalayam, who was involved in the sale of ganja was caught red-handed by the police and arrested. Police have seized 1.100 kg of ganja from him.

Both arrested men were produced in Court and sent to jail.
